We are living our lives abound with so much information...

Since the series is almost done (I'm told) I started watching the Persona 4 anime and I must say; I'm a little disappointed. Of course it's a disappointment I knew I would experience due to how compressed the game needs to be to fit it into an anime. The first episode alone combined hours of game play and storyline which is fine, as I said. I know they had to do it so we wouldn't have a 102 hour long anime everyone fell asleep in (though *I* would watch it).

I felt a bit... I don't know... dirty, watching it. Almost the kind of feeling I get when I skip a cut scene I haven't seen before (even though I have seen all the in game cut scenes). The voice acting is fine, the animation is fine, and of course the music is exceptional

After four episodes now, I still have that eugh feeling. It also bothers me when they have to compress things, into anime form, because they make things happen at different points or in a different way, and that makes my OCD bells go off in an insane manner. I might want to enjoy it more, but I'm unable to enjoy it more because of these reasons. As I head into the fifth episode I find myself wanting to play the game again instead of watching the anime. I’m sure its phenomenal for others and I’m sure that others are enjoying it immensely, but... I don't know. Its just... like Persona 4 cliff notes. I feel like I'm cheating and I don't like it.

If I Had a Message For You, I'd Give It To Your Mother

Holy shit man it's been a while since I last wrote anything. A lot has happened. First and foremost, I'm no longer writing reviews. They're too time consuming and I can relay the information quicker in other ways. The only review I need from a friend is 'check it out' or 'don't check it out' and so I think it's hypocritical of me to think anyone else needs anything more. Think otherwise? Let me know.

Last time I blogged I mentioned I'd got a laptop because my comp fucked out. The laptop is great, but I find a hard time doing any kind of non-casual gaming on it. This includes MMO's and full on graphically nice games. I don't mind playing like Puzzle Quest or shit like that. I'm still playing Guild Wars and Requiem, but other than that I don't see myself playing any MMO's on it any more. Any games I want are on the consoles and handhelds anyway and I don't have to keep upgrading them every year to play the nice new shiny games.

So that being said, I've been playing quite a few games. Last time I was playing through Dragon Age 2, but other games took my time away like Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

For the most part. Final Fantasy XIII-2  surprised the fuck out of me... I thought it would be a painful, linear journey of hell... again, but it was amazing. Spectacular. Fantabulous. Voice acting, translation, graphics, MUSIC, story... it all came together in a wonderful sparkle of joy. Indescribable. Go check it out. On the same rope, I also got  Final Fantasy XIII for the PS3 and traded in my 360 version. I do like it better on the PS3 as it's way nicer. Going through it again, years later, is okay. It's not wowing me, but it is still good. I mainly did it to get the extra stuff in Final Fantasy XIII-2 , but found myself actually going through it.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Man, what can I say. Ezio is fucking 52 and the daddy of the mac daddys. It just gets more and more awesome over time. Though this is the end of Ezio's journey ( but not the end of Assassin's Creed ) it lacks no joy or amazement. Altaïr gets play as well! I had an amazing amount of fun playing as Altaïr through his life, all the way to the day he dies. Of course the music was the absolute best... Jesper Kyd is a god of music and teaming with Lorne Balfe was just caramel and cinnamon together at last. Everything about the game made me squee and even I became teary quite a few times. I can't wait til the next one, seriously, when I beat it all I wanted was MORE. The series is far from over for me and I salivate at the prospect of another.

Skyrim still looms in the air and permeates the life force around me. My main file has 188 hours, but I feel I need to state I have four other save files that I abandoned before finding my true calling, as I knew I would, as a fabled Bow Mage of Tamriel. These save files have the following hours; 44, 38, 57, and 61 hours. So, I've put a considerable amount of time into this game. Trophy acquisition is going well and nearing its end. I did beat the main story, although it was a little easy. I wondered why it wasn't quite a challenge and so, after laying Alduin in the ground, I checked out a few sites. Ah ha... I needed to be around the area of level 24 when going against Alduin. This explained it... I was 55 at the time. Over levelled a bit, but the game is such that it envelopes you in questing and lore. Levelling and exploring. By all means get the fucking game and love it to bits, but make sure you finish the main story before 25 I would say... then spend the rest of your time enjoying everything else... and there is a lot more to enjoy.

And now the minors... there are quite a few I've been dipping into between the heavy hitters and provide some links at the end of the blog. Requiem is a Korean F2P MMO which I have mentioned before. It's really great if you're into that kind of a game ( I love the Asian games; Korean especially ) and runs very well even on my little laptop. Guild Wars 2 steadily moves closer and closer, and even though I am aware I probably can't run it on this laptop ( hoping I can though ) I can still run Guild Wars on full settings with no problem and so I ventured back into it. Having a great time with my Dervish/Warrior. Dragon Quest 9: Sentinels of the Starry Skies squirrelled it's way back into my play time. Started a new file due to my niece destroying my previous ( 128 hours... ) save for her own amusement. About 20 hours into it and it's still as good as ever.

I also got the urge to play Resident Evil 4 again ( Wii version of course ) and so I dragged the Wii back from mum's house where I had allowed it to lay for a while. Lastly, I think, is Persona 2... which is so awesome. Although I have played Innocent Sin before, this is a remake and it was done in an incredible way. I really hope they release Eternal Sin like this as I haven't played that one yet.

Well this is such a long post so thanks for reading and happy gaming! Links following :)
