It's been a while since I've typed anything in here. For a few weeks I wasn't playing any games, but I was watching a load of anime. I just got burnt out on gaming for a bit... it happens. However, the anime I was watching was good so I'll listen them here then get on with the post:
Uraboku
Gintama
Naruto Shippuden
Durarara
Bleach
Miracle Train
Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee
La Corda dOro - Primo and Secondo Passo
Glass Maiden
Pale Cocoon
The Tower of DRUAGA -the Aegis of URUK-
The Tower of DRUAGA -the Sword of URUK-
Skip Beat!
Neo Angelique Abyss
I'd recommend you watching any (preferably all) of those as they are fantastic. Particularly, the first six of them. You can find them all at CrunchyRoll to watch.
Anyway, so I am starting to game a little bit again, but more for PSP, DS, & PS2. I have made up my backlog at BackLoggery to keep better track of the games I need to beat. It's taking me forever to enter in my 200+ games, though I guess I should focus on entering in the ones I haven't beat first as that's the entire point of backloggery. It's a pretty cool site & it's not so... hmm not so nit-picky maybe? As xfire or Raptr or something. I don't know the word I'm looking for... maybe that it's more easygoing.
I am eternally aggravated by Raptr... I think I would enjoy it more if I didn't have to go in & manually list any time I'm playing a non-PS3 or non-360 game. Of course there's no real way to automatically do it for like ps2 or psp or ds or something, but it's still annoying. I don't do it a lot any more, so Raptr has become unreliable to determine my gaming time & therefore not really worth using to me. As for xfire, something about that programme bothers me greatly, I'm not sure what it is, but I haven't really used it in ages.
Games I have played recently have been Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII which I guess goes without saying which also includes Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. I wonder if I even need to mention these every week any more as it's pretty obvious I have played these every week since they were released. I have also been playing Final Fantasy IV: The After Years as I need to work on it again after Nintendo decided to delete all the saves on my hard drive after I sent it in to get fixed. I am on Rydia's Tale now, slowly working my way back to where I was before.
Also, I have been playing my sixth play through of Persona 4 (never gets old, I swear), fourth play of Persona 3 FES (thinking about starting the Answer tbh as I haven't done that yet), Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, & Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. I am having a lot of difficulty in Devil Survivor at the moment. Stuck on a hard battle I can't seem to master, no matter how many additional battles I level up in. Day three is proving to be the hardest day yet!
On a side note I would like to touch upon something with I feel very strongly about. Emulation. I admit that in the past I have emulated games, but in my particular defence, they were NES & SNES games I had already bought & I have not done it in any recent time. I am wholly against emulation in all it's forms. I understand impatience & aggravation at potentially not being able to play games, not getting the ones you want, & not being able to afford all these games & systems coming out, but PLEASE. Have some patience. Wait until you can save up the money to get the system/game.
I implore you! Emulating will let you play the game sooner, yes, but in the end it's akin to spitting on the face of the developers & others involved in the creation of the game. It will taste so much sweeter if you just spend the time saving to buy these systems & games. Don't emulate my friends! Please, please, please take the time to save up for the system AND the game.
Thank you for reading this short message from Terr Against Emulation.
